What to Expect

Ages 39 and Under

  • Medical history review
  • Physical examination
  • Vaginal PH evaluation
  • LABS that may be ordered
    –  Comprehensive metabolic panel
    –  Complete blood count (CBC)
    –  Lipid profile – LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides
    –  May include pelvic and breast exam
    –  Thyroid function screening (TSH)
    –  A1c
    –  HPV testing and Pap smear
  • Contraception refill
  • Baseline mammogram may be ordered
  • Fitness and nutrition evaluation

Ages 40-49

  • Medical history review
  • Physical examination includes pelvic and breast exam
  • Vaginal PH evaluation
  • LABS
    –  Comprehensive metabolic panel
    –  Complete blood count (CBC)
    –  Lipid profile – LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides
    –  Thyroid function screening (TSH)
    –  A1c
    –  Hormone testing as needed
  • Mammogram* ordered
  • Pap smear when indicated

Ages 50 and Older

  • Medical history review
  • Physical examination
  • Menopausal assessment
  • Comprehensive metabolic panel
  • Complete blood count (CBC)
  • Lipid profile – LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides
  • Urinalysis
  • Thyroid function screening (TSH)
  • CA-125 test optional
  • Assessment of need for further testing:
    –  Electrocardiogram (EKG)
    –  Exercise treadmill stress test
    –  Calcium scoring CT scan (heart)*
    –  Bone density test (DEXA)*
    –  Mammogram
    –  Chest X-ray
    –  Audiogram
    –  Ultrasound of ovaries
    –  Fitness and nutrition evaluation
    –  Colonoscopy**
